John Raymond Ortiz

John (Buzzy) Ortiz, 74, of Ithaca, died unexpectedly Nov. 25, 2018, at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca.

Born Dec. 1, 1943, in Elmira, NY, John is survived by seven daughters: Sharon Ortiz, Karen Ortiz, Christine Ortiz, Jennifer (Ortiz) Reeves, Rebeka (Ortiz) Mazzone, Amy Ortiz, and Elisha (Ortiz) Lloyd; a sister Joan (Ortiz) Falzone; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is predeceased by two grandsons, Michael Monroe and Joshua Reeves; his mother Evelyn (Streeter) Protts; and a sister Lois Hamberger.

A memorial service will be at a later date. He will be buried with his Mother in Trumbulls Corners Cemetery, Newfield, NY. Perkins Funeral Home in Dryden is assisting the family.
