Josephine Van Order

Josephine Carmella Natoli Van  Order, 84, passed away peacefully September 18, 2023 at Cayuga Medical Center, Ithaca, NY. Jo was born February 14, 1939 in Syracuse, NY to Frank and Rose Natoli (Masterpole). She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High school in 1956. She then attended Cortland State University where she achieved a Bachelor of Science and Masters in Education. Her college degree was quickly utilized by pursuing a long teaching career at Dryden Elementary School. It was there she met ‘Jack’, John H. Van Order Jr. They married in 1963 and remained so until his death in 2019. After teaching, Jo pursued her other loves; traveling, (she loved Florida especially) cooking, baking, catering, floral arranging, and especially animals. She loved watching and feeding wild birds and other forest animals. She is survived by her daughter Joan M. Van Order, many friends, extended family, nieces and nephews.

Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a local animal rescue or shelter would be appreciated.
