JOYCE W. MARQUIS,
age 75, of Yates Ave., Freeville, NY passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Marquis was born January 8, 1932 a daughter of the late Lionel and Ella Bloom Werninck. She was graduated from Dryden High School in 1949 and has been a life area resident. On Oct. 12, 1951 she was married to Kenneth Marquis who survives. Joyce was a member of the United Methodist Church of Freeville. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Marquis, her daughters, Cheryl Howe of Freeville, Candace (Jeff) Capagrossi of Columbia, SC and Cynthia (Hank) Yolman of Etna; her brothers, Lionel Richard (Barbara) Werninck of Horseheads, Keith (Connie) Werninck of St. Augustine, FL, Barry Werninck of Freeville and Kirby (Gloria) Werninck of Freeville; eight grandchildren, one great-grandson. She was predeceased by a daughter, Corinne Lee Glover-Marquis who died Aug. 8, 2006 and a grandson, Eli James Yolman who died Nov. 27, 1996.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY with Rev. Dale Austin officiating.
Burial will follow at Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends may call from
