Judith Ann Baker

JUDITH ANN BAKER, age 51, of 67 Bank Street, Newfield, NY died Sunday, Sept., 24, 2006 at the Hospicare Residence. Judy was born December 10, 1954 at Ithaca a daughter of the late Grant C. And Edna Watt Jones. She was attended Ithaca City Schools and was graduated

from high school in Atlanta, GA. Later she studied at TC3. Judy was employed at Joe’s Restaurant, Old Port Harbor and was a secretary at the registrar’s office of the graduate school at Cornell University. On Sept. 5, 1981 she was married to Danny Baker who survives. Judy was

a loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother. She was caring and compassionate. A son, Timothy "CannonBall" Baker and a grandson,

Pace Anthony Alo, have predeceased her.

Survivors include her husband, Danny Baker of Newfield, her daughter, Christina (Norman) West of Corning, NY; her son, Michael (Stacy) Alo

of Burlington, NC; grandchildren, Cheyenne Baker, Makayla West, Logan Michael Alo and Morgan Rae Alo; her brother, Grant B. (Sandy) Jones of Kirkwood; her sisters, Jackie (Thomas) Roskelly of Ithaca, Penny Wester of Lakeland, FL, Debbie (John) Sladich of Ithaca; aunts; uncles; nieces and nephews and a host of loving friends and extended relatives.

Memorial services will be held at 3 PM Friday, Sept. 29, 2006 at Peoples Baptist Church, Newfield, NY. Burial will be private, there are no calling hours. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, in memory of Judy may be made to Hospicare and Palliative Services, 172 East King Road, Ithaca, NY 14850. Perkins Funeral Home assisted the family.

Dear Judy,

The angels were waiting,

They had been calling your name.

When the gates opened,

Many were there to greet you,

Minus your pain.

Your soul has been tormented for so many years,

We are happy you are free of pain,

Though we shed many tears.

You are the first of the sisters to pass,

And our hearts are broken.

You will be dearly missed.
