Karen Garvey, 62, of McLean, NY, passed away Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Hospicare Residence after a valiant battle with lung cancer. Born January 16, 1953 in Ithaca, NY she was the daughter of the late Arnold E. and Loretta Jane Allen Brubaker. She was a dedicated and accomplished insurance agent for over 30 years.
Karen is survived by her husband, Mark T. Garvey of Ithaca, NY; sister, Vicki Watt of McLean, NY; brother, Randy Brubaker of NC; daughter, Sarah (Dana) Murray-Cooper of Freeville, NY; sons, Brian (Deb) Cooper of Norwich, NY, and Jason Cooper of Enfield, NY; her dear companion, Bob Watt of McLean, NY; and four grandchildren.
Her family would like to thank Dr Campbell and the wonderful staff, the Cancer Resource Center, and the support of friends for their compassionate care shown to her during her illness. A Celebration of her life will be held at Taughannock Falls State Park, North Pavilion, on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 starting at 2 pm.
