Keith C. Lee

KEITH C. LEE, age 48, of Dryden, passed away June 1st, 2005 at his residence. Keith was born January 24, 1957 in Binghamton, NY a son of Marjorie Lee of Rome, NY and Burdette "Bud" Lee of Afton, NY. A graduate of Bainbridge-Guilford Central School in Bainbridge, NY, Class of 1976, he went on to serve his country with the US Air Force. Keith attended Tompkins-Cortland Community College, graduating with a degree in Criminal Justice. On April 29, 1989 he was married to the former Cathy Williamson. Together they created a loving family with Dannielle, Justin, Michele and two grandchildren.

Keith’s distinguished career embodied the philosophy of community-oriented policing. He joined the Public Safety Office of Ithaca College as a patrol officer in 1980 and was promoted to Sergeant in 1986. He earned the I.C. Choice Award in 2003 for his work in helping establish the college’s Emergency Response Plan. In April of 1999 he was presented the with the Frank G. Hammer Officer of the Month Award by the Ithaca Kiwanis Club, which cited him for his leadership in the Office of Public Safety and his service to the campus community. Keith furthered his career while working for the NYS Park Police from April 25, 1983 to August 26, 1988.

Keith was a devoted husband, father and loved to celebrate life with his family. He was committed to loving, serving and protecting all that knew him. He fondly recalled a recent trip to Twinsburg, Ohio to the "Twins Convention" with his twin, Kevin and their families. He is survived by his twin, Kevin, brothers, Scott and David; sisters, Linda and Sue along with many nieces; nephews; uncles and a grandmother in Binghamton.

Friends are invited to call from 1 to 4 PM and again from 6 to 8 PM Saturday, June 4th at the Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, June 5th in the McLean Community Church, McLean, NY with Rev. Leslie A. Smith officiating. Burial with Military Honors presented by members of the Dryden Veterans Memorial Home Ritual Team will be in McLean Rural Cemetery.
