Kenneth S. Nelson passed away on Thursday, June 1st, 2023, in Waterloo, NY. He was 78 years old.
He was born the 7th of 11 children to John and Minnie (Georgia) Nelson. He attended Onondaga Central School. Farming was always his true love, and he was a herdsman for 22 years. He also was a custodian for Southern Cayuga Central Schools for 18 years. He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Trudy Lee (Curtis) Nelson plus sons Wade and John (Patricia Hoellerer) and daughters Darlene Kay and Diane (Wesley Cooper), 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
Preceding him were his parents and 4 brothers, Arthur, John D., Phillip, and Sanford. His remaining siblings are 3 sisters- Edith Muir, Dawn Cook, and Sharon Paul (Abend), 3 brothers- Keith, Vaughn, and Dale (Sharon Perringer), plus 30 nieces and nephews.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and Vietnam and was a High Priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was a much-loved husband, father, and Papa. There will be no calling hours, a private burial was held June 5th, 2023.
