Kenneth Paul Sutfin

October 1, 1934 — January 10, 2016

Kenneth Paul Sutfin, age 81, of Freeville, NY formerly of Lansing, NY passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Cayuga Medical Center surrounded by his family, after a period of declining health.
Born October 1, 1934 at home in the Town of Dryden, NY a son of the late John and Mable Cornelius Sutfin. Ken worked at Morse Chain and Cornell University as well as several gas stations in Ithaca during the 70's and 80's. Ken retired from Cornell University in 1996. Ken enjoyed family vacations to the seaside as well as camping throughout the Eastern U.S. and Eastern Canada. He was a great tinkerer and could almost always be found in his garage and workshops; working on a car or woodworking project. He was an avid sportsman who loved hunting and fishing, as well as watching auto racing on T.V. He also loved watching his grandchildren play sports and was always on the hunt for that great deal at all the local auctions and garage sales.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Ina Mae Groats Sutfin at home; daughter, Wendy (John) Davis of Endicott, NY; Bonnie (Don) Scutt of Freeville, NY; son and best friend, Kenneth (Andrea) Sutfin, Jr. of Spencer, NY; grandchildren, Chris, Kim, Justin, Chloe, Alex, David, Ashton and Trevar; brothers, David of Freeville, NY, George (Sandie) of Ithaca, NY, Henry, Gene ( Anne)and Donald (Kim) all of Freeville, NY; sister, Ruth Sutfin of Oneonta, NY and several nieces and nephews as well as his granddog, Skye who he always enjoyed holding and petting when she came to visit. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Charles, Lawrence, Maynard, Raymond, Frank and Archie Sutfin and his mother-in-law, Fannie Manley.
Friends may call from 10 - 11 am, Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY with Funeral Services immediately held at 11 am. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Candor, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Dryden Sports Boosters, PO Box 877, Dryden, NY 13053.
