L. JOHN REESE,
age 93, of 260 Main St., Freeville, NY died Thursday, January 27, 2005 at the Cortland Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born Lloyd John Reese on April 21, 1911 at Lock Haven, PA a son of the late Maynard and Ada Temple Reese. John was a long time area resident. His wife, Mary E. Gaul Reese, died September 22, 1988. He was employed at Camp Packing Company, Eastern Artificial Breeders and later at Cortland Line Co. In retirement he was a scrap dealer and worked at Willow Glen Cemetery.
Survivors include his sons, Harold M. (Phyllis) Reese of McLean and Lloyd N. (Ernestine) Reese of Millville, NJ; a daughter, Maryruth (James) Teeter of Genoa, NY; a sister, Alberta Reese of Union Springs, NY; his companion of many years, Helen Robinson of Freeville; fourteen grandchildren; many great and great great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM Monday, January 31, 2004 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Austin officiating. Burial, delayed until spring, will be in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 PM Sunday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY. Those wishing may make memorials to the W. B. Strong Vol. Fire Co., Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 129, Freeville, NY 13068-0129.
