LAURA M. BUTLER, age 87, of Dryden Road, Ithaca, NY passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Interlaken. Mrs. Butler was born August 23, 1924 in Curtis, NY a daughter of the late Martin and Mildred Seeley Lanphere. On July 31, 1946 she was married to Thomas Finley Butler who passed away after 60 years of marriage on Dec. 16, 2006. She was employed at Ithaca College as the Supervisor of the Housekeeping Dept. and had previously been employed at Cornell. Laura was a member of and sang in the choir of the Varna United Methodist Church. She enjoyed many good times traveling and summering at the family cottage on Lake Como.Survivors include her children, Wayne (Nanette) Butler of Trumansburg and Catherine E. Grover of Freeville; a brother, David Lanphere of Dolgeville, NY; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by the parents, her husband and a brother, Royce Lanphere.Services will be held at a date to be announced. There are no calling hours.
