Laura C (Nobles) Stewart

Laura C Stewart, 98 of West Groton, NY passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Groton Community Health Care Center.

Born February 27, 1924 in Groton, NY she was the daughter of the late Bert and Mabel Keller Nobles. A lifelong area resident, Laura was married on October 24, 1953 to Herbert Quillen Stewart in Groton. He passed away September 3, 2010. She was a farm wife and had been employed with Jamesway in Ithaca. She enjoyed gardening and her greatest joy was spending time with family.

Survivors include her sons, Andrew W. of Groton, Bert (Karen) of Ithaca, Arnold (Rebecca) of Hartselle, AL, John Q. (Kathy) of Cayce, SC; daughters, Opal Stewart of McGraw and Beverly (Pete) Moore of Moravia; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Laura was predeceased by her sister, Alice Rothwell; and brothers, Calvin Nobles and Stanley Nobles.

Funeral services will be held at 12 pm, Monday, February 13, 2023 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY with Pastor Sam Neno officiating. Burial will follow at West Groton Cemetery. Friends may call from 11-12 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Groton Community Health Care Center, Recreation Fund, 120 Sykes St., Groton, NY 13073.
