LAWRENCE H. HULL,
age 73, of Buffalo Street, Ithaca, NY passed away Sunday, August 2, 2009 at the Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca. "Larry" was born June 21, 1936 in Ithaca a son of the late Adelbert and Louise Fritzges Hull. Larry was a 1954 graduate of Ithaca High School and a 1958 graduate of Syracuse University where he also studied Business Administration as a post graduate.
As a college student he was a member of the Air Force Reserves and served in France during the Berlin Air Lift. On September 9, 1961, he was married to the former Sondra Bartley in Haines Falls, NY. He was associated with his father in Hull Heating and Plumbing in Ithaca, a business which is continued in the third generation by his son and daughter, Brad and Sue. Larry was very active in the Ithaca Community and was a 45 year member of Fidelity Lodge #51, F.&A.M. where he served as Master 4 times. He also was a member of Balbec Grotto and served as Monarch 2 times and was a member of the Eagle Chapter, Royal Arch Masons # 58. As a member of these organizations he served a number of years as a trustee of the Ithaca Masonic Corporation. He was also a member of the Moose, The Eagles and the Ithaca Taoist Tai Chi Society.
Larry was a loving husband, brother, father and grandfather who will be missed by his family and the greater Ithaca Community. His humorous and loving side was always tempered with the mantra he adopted many years ago, "Watch your pennies, the dollars will take care of themselves". Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Sondra Hull of Ithaca, his children, Brad (Rhonda) Hull of Ithaca, Rob Hull of Commerce City, CO, Sue (Steve) Hull-Shirley of Candor, his siblings, Marilyn (Neal) Ryan of Ithaca, Dorothy (Warren) Sturdevant and Harry (Toni) Hull of Hoosic Falls, NY, grandchildren, Matthew & Melissa Hull, Brandon "Buzz" and Nick Shirley; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Masonic Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, August 8th, 2009 at the Perkins Funeral Home followed by a religious service with Rev. Phil Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Ithaca. Friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 PM Friday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY. Those wishing to remember Larry are asked to consider a memorial, in lieu of flowers, to the Ithaca Youth Hockey Association, P.O.
