Lee R. Alexander, 89, of West Brandywine, PA formerly of Dryden, NY died peacefully in his sleep on December 28, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Lee was born on December 21, 1926, second son of Glenn R. Alexander and Alice S. June Alexander in Cortland, NY. Lee is survived by the love of his life for over 65 years, Irene Scheftic Alexander, daughters Sally Alexander (Timothy) Acomb, Dundee, NY; Mary Alexander (Robert) Silsbe, Chester Springs, PA; sons Richard Alexander, Boston, MA; and Donald G. (Kathy) Alexander, Alto, MI.
Grandchildren, Bryan (Tara) Acomb, Katy, TX; Mark Acomb, W. Hollywood, CA; Jaime Alexander (Bradley Schneider) Ozark, MO; and Lauren (Kyle) Hollern, Beaverton, OR. Lee leaves one great-grandson, Maxwell Schneider of MO; 4 sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Lee was predeceased by his parents, two brothers Charles J. Alexander, and Stuart B. Alexander.
Lee loved life and enjoyed working on antique tractors. He and Irene raised their children on the family dairy farm in Dryden. His hobbies included playing games with family, being a member of Toys of Yesteryear, and playing bocce ball.
A memorial service will be held at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main Street, Dryden, NY at 10 a.m., Friday, January 1, 2016. Interment will follow at the Cortland Rural Cemetery, Cortland, NY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Lee's name to the Dryden Fire Department, P.O. Box 397, Dryden, NY 13053-0397 or to the American Heart Association, or a charity of your choice.
