Lee Ann (Bailey) Parker was born October 9th, 1956, to William G. & Jane W. Bailey of Dryden, NY.
Lee, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away suddenly on July 17, 2024, at Cayuga Medical Center surrounded by her family after complications from a stroke she suffered on April 18th, 2024.
Lee, also known as Auntie, Grandma & Mama Lee, had a zest for life and a kind heart that touched the lives of those around her. She had a passion for puzzles and enjoyed traveling to the Adirondacks, where she found peace and tranquility. Lee took great pride in mowing her lawn and tending to her beautiful flowers. Lee always had a passion for planning her Dryden High School reunions with her 1974 classmates for the last 50 years. However, her greatest joy in life was spending time with her cherished grandchildren.
In her professional life, she graduated from Tompkins Cortland Community College in 1976 and then began her remarkable career of over 45 years, with 30 years in the banking industry (1978-2008); after retiring from the banking industry, Lee entered public service as the Town of Dryden Deputy Clerk (2009-2024). She also held a life Insurance License and an NASD License.
Lee contributed to her community in a number of ways, including serving as a Notary Public, Secretary/Treasurer for Green Hills Cemetery, and active member for many, many years in the Dryden Presbyterian Church.
Lee will be remembered for her vibrant personality and her unwavering ability to speak her mind. She always had a smile on her face and brought light to any room she entered. Lee left a lasting impact on all those she interacted with in her life.
Her favorite place in the world was Old Forge, NY, where she found solace and created lasting memories. Lee's love for her family and her dedication to her loved ones will be forever cherished. Lee's proudest accomplishments were her daughters, Molly Parker and Laura (Parker) Diedrickson (Zachery). She adored her grandchildren, Maycee Mix, Kennedy Diedrickson, and Charlotte Diedrickson, and they brought immense joy to her life. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rod, who passed away in March of 2020. Lee is survived by her brothers, John and Rob Bailey, who will cherish her memory. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
