Lena G. Carver

FREEVILLE - Lena G. Carver, 85, of 15 Cook St., Freeville, NY passed away unexpectedly on October 24, 2007 at Cortland Regional Medical Center. Born February 8, 1922 in Washington D.C., she was a daughter of the late Albert B. and Mildred Derrick Genung. On January 6, 1938 she married Harvey B. Carver in Maryland. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. In addition, she also worked in the cafeterias of several school districts including Freeville Elementary and was a member of the Freeville United Methodist Church and the W.B. Strong Fire Dept Auxiliary.

Mrs. Carver is survived by her husband of 69 years, Harvey B. Carver of Freeville, NY; son, Harvey B. (Bonnie) Carver, Jr. of Winter Haven, FL; daughter, Nancy J. Carver of Freeville, NY and son, Michael B. (Vivian) Carver of Spokane, WA; six grandchildren, Terri J. Lyman of Fort Myers, FL, Harvey B. Carver, III of Media, PA, Benjamin B. and Bradley C. Carver both of Sarasota, FL, Tamara S. Reece of Winter Haven, FL and Lisa A. O’Neil of Spokane, WA; 15 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mildred D. Sherwood, Jean E. Pearson and Jane S. Dickinson all of Freeville, NY and several nieces, nephews great nieces and great nephews. In addition, she was predeceased by her infant brother, Homer C. Genung.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 29, 2007 at Freeville United Methodist Church, Rev. Dale Austin and Rev. Roger J. Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Glen Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 - 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
