Leslie R. Kimmich

Mr. LESLIE R. KIMMICH, age 86, of 248 Lake Road, Dryden, NY passed away Friday, July 14, 2006 at home. Mr. Kimmich was born Nov. 30, 1919 at Harford a son of the late George W. and Grace Forshee Kimmich. Leslie was graduated from Marathon High School in 1936 and was a successful dairy farmer for 35 years. On August 1, 1942 he was married to the former Ruth I. Kurtz in the Harford Methodist Church. Mr. and Mrs. Kimmich continued their active participation in church until the present time. Leslie taught Sunday School in the Dryden Methodist Church for more than

50 years and served on the Board of Trustees and many other church committees. He was a past member and Vice President of the Harford Milk Cooperative. He served for 15 years on the Dryden Central School Board of Education.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Ruth Kimmich at home, his daughters, Elaine Kimmich of Horsham, PA and Vivian (Robert) Haines of Coatesville, PA; his sons, Lloyd (Diane) Kimmich of Dryden, Kay (Laura) Kimmich of Brooktondale and Steven (Tammie) Kimmich of Newfield; seven grandchildren, Michael, Peter, Thomas, Bobbi Jo, Mary Jo, Patrick and Steven.; a brother-in-law, Earl Kurtz and sisters-in-law, Olive Price, Ellen Johnson and Lee Campbell; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his step-father, George Stowe; brothers, John, Lloyd and Earl; a sister, Dorothy and a sisters-in-law, Evelyn Kimmich and Florence Cornelius.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Kinney officiating. Burial will follow in Virgil Rural Cemetery, Virgil, NY. Friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Monday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden. Friends are encouraged to make a memorial, in lieu of flowers, to the Dryden Methodist Church, P.O. Box 193, Dryden, NY 13053 or a charity of their own choice.
