Lisa Marie (Mertz) Horton

Lisa Marie Horton, 57 passed away unexpectedly Thursday, June 16th at Robert Packer Hospital. Lisa was born on June 18, 1964 in Bainbridge, NY the daughter of George and Madeline Brown Mertz.  Lisa was a communicant of Holy Cross Church, and had worked for over 20 years for Dryden Central School District and Ithaca City School District.  Lisa’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and close friends.

Lisa is survived by her husband of 33 years Jeffrey Horton; her parents George and Madeline Brown Mertz; children: Joshua, Andrew, Brittany, and Matthew; grandchildren: Autumn and Jayden; her siblings: George Jr. (Carmella), Philip (predeceased by Maria), Larry (Karen), Karen (Herb), Melita, John (Annalisa), Denise (Steve), and David (Stephanie); several nieces and nephews; father and mother-in-law James and Julie Horton, brother-in-law David (Barbara), sister-in-law Valerie.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 21 from 3-6pm at Perkins Funeral Home, Dryden. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 10 am in Holy Cross Church, George Rd. Lisa is survived by her husband of 34 years Jeffrey Horton; her parents George and Madeline Brown Mertz; children: Josh, Andy, Brittany, and Matt; grandchildren: Autumn and Jayden; her siblings: George Jr., Philip, Larry, Karen, Melita, John, Denise, and David; several nieces and nephews; father and mother in law James and Julie Horton, brother in law David, sister in law Valerie.
