Lois Marie Schutt

Lois Marie Hackett Schutt passed away peacefully on May 27, 2016 with her children by her side. Lois was born on December 6, 1935 in Lapeer, NY to Russell and Eloise Jayne Hackett. She married Jerome Schutt on July 24, 1954 in Harford, NY. They had a farm on Schutt Road in Dryden. Lois was a member of Dryden-Fulton Groton Chapter #250 of the Order of The Eastern Star. She is survived by her five children, Linda (Gordon) Simon of, Boardman, OR, Melanie (Ed) Caro of Statesville, NC, Karen (John) Durkey of Akron, OH, Julie (Rick) Petrovich of Statesville, NC and Brian (Mary) Schutt of Richford, NY; one sister: Mary Jayne (Phil) Bradt of Grand Rapids, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and her brothers Paul and Willard. She had 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Lois worked in Dryden school as a cafeteria worker and was a nurse at Highgate Manor Nursing Home. Lois enjoyed spending time with her family and doing needlework. The family would like to thank the staff at Misty Glen CRMC for their dedicated attention to Lois and her family.
Calling hours will be held from 12 to 2 PM, Tuesday, May 31 at the Perkins Funeral Home followed by O.E.S. services provided by members of Dryden-Fulton Groton Chapter #250 and a funeral to be officiated by Rev. James Owens. Burial will be in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Lois's name to Misty Glen at Cortland Regional Medical Center, 134 Homer Ave, Cortland, NY or to: Cortland County SPCA, 879 McLean Rd., Cortland, NY 13045.
