Loren Matthew Sherman

LOREN MATTHEW SHERMAN, age 50, of Scott, NY passed away at University Hospital, Syracuse, NY after becoming ill. Loren was born Dec. 13, 1965 in Cortland, a son of the "Steve" and Gail Oaks Sherman of Cortland. Loren was graduated from Marathon High School in 1984 and served in the US Army Reserves. He was employed at Pall Corp. for 20 years. A tried and true Dallas Cowboys, NY Yankee and Syracuse Orange fan, he also enjoyed golf, hunting, bowling, karaoke, spending time with family and often being the life of the party. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life.
Survivors include his parents, Stephen and Gail Sherman; his son and daughter-in-law, Loren "Matt" and Nicole Sherman all of Cortland; his daughter and son-in-law, Brittany and Jeremy Donah of Marathon; his sister, Rachelle (Joseph) Fidler of Mansfield, Ohio; his brother, James T. Sherman of Cortland; his companion, Tammy VanCise of Scott; grandchildren, Simon and Henry Donah and soon to be born Troy and Mia Sherman; a nephew, Stephen Sherman II of Providence, RI; aunts, uncles and cousins; and many extended family members and friends.
Friends are invited to call from 4 to 7 PM, Saturday at the Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main Street, Dryden where funeral services will be held at 2PM, Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment in Virgil Rural Cemetery will be private. Memorials, in lieu of flowers are directed to the Town of Virgil Memorial Committee, 1176 Church Street, Cortland, NY 13045
