Lynda (Heidt) Kane of Monroe, NC and formerly of Dryden, NY passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014 at The Hospice House of Union County in North Carolina. Born July 21, 1949 in Johnstown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Teresa St. Louis Van Slyke. A 1968 graduate of Dryden High School, Lynda was employed at the Continental Telephone Company in Dryden for many years before relocating to North Carolina.
Lynda was an avid gardener and loved working in her flower gardens on a daily basis.
Lynda is survived by her loving husband, Mark Kane of Monroe, NC; her son, Jamie (Drew Rosi) Heidt; her daughter, Michelle M. Griffin; grandchildren, Corey M.J. Griffin and Makensie Griffin; and her brother, Timothy (Jean) Van Slyke; her mother in law Dolores F. Kane, sister in law Gail (Kane) Greenhill, and brothers-in-law Steve (Penny) Kane; Scott (Patti) Kane, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Laura Holt and a son-in-law, SSgt Patrick Griffin, Jr. The family will greet visitors to celebrate Lynda’s life at Perkins Funeral Home in Dryden, NY on Friday, November 21st from 5-7pm. Graveside Burial will be at Willow Glen Cemetery on Saturday, November 22nd at 11:30am.
