Lynn S. Gardner

Lynn S. Gardner, age 80, of Freeville, NY passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Cortland Regional Medical Center.
Born May 18, 1935 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Harry and Grace McDonnell Gardner. On July 14, 1962 he married Lorraine McEachren in White Plains, NY. Lynn was an avid golfer and member of Stonehedges Golf Course for many years. He was a life member and held many positions in the Elks Lodge, most recently with Homer Elks Lodge #2506 and a former member of St. Paul's UMC in Ithaca. He was the manager of the Lounsberry Truck Stop in Nichols, NY prior to retirement.
In addition to his wife of 53 years, Lorraine E. Gardner of Groton, NY, Lynn is survived by his daughter, Karen (Fred) Wheat of Moravia, NY; son, Douglas (Wendy)Gardner of Homer, NY; three grandsons, Zachary Gardner, and David and Scott Wheat; brother, Harry Gardner of Homer, NY; twin sister, Marilyn Noble of Portland, ME and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY from 10 - 11 am on Saturday, February 6, 2016 a memorial service will follow at 11 am.
