M. Theresa Fitzgibbons

THERESE FitzGIBBONS , age 84, a life resident of Oswego, NY, passed away Monday, Aug. 6, 2012 at Oswego Hospital. Margaret Therese FitzGibbons was born Aug. 27, 1927 in Oswego, the daughter of the late Harry R. and Margaret Gleason FitzGibbons.

Therese was graduated from St. Paul’s Academy, Oswego High School and Nathan Littauer Nursing School in Gloversville, NY. She was employed as a registered nurse in the pediatric unit of the Oswego Hospital, worked as a private duty nurse, and later in retirement, worked at Loretto She was a lifelong communicant of St. Paul’s Church. She greatly enjoyed her Oswego heritage, going “out to the loop” for a fish at Rudy’s and was proud of her Irish lineage. She found great comfort in her cats,

Wally and Polly, and the many friends that she kept in touch with. Her family is grateful for the assistance that her Oswego cousins and close friends provided Therese in her elder years.

Survivors include her niece, Kathleen Fitzgibbons (Brad) Perkins; nephews, Patrick (Barbara), Michael (Susan), Thomas (Lorraine) and Joseph Fitzgibbons; two great-nieces; five great-nephews; a sister-in-law, M. Jean Fitzgibbons and many cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Wm. Patrick Fitzgibbons and a nephew, John Fitzgibbons.

A memorial mass will be offered at 10 AM, Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at St. Paul’s Church, Oswego. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s cemetery. There are no calling hours.
