MADELINE LOUISE DART MILES
, age 70, of 1 Etna Lane, Etna, NY passed away, Saturday, May 9, 2009 at the Highland Nursing Home, Brighton, NY after a lengthy illness. Madeline was born May 31, 1938, at Ithaca a daughter of the late Luther and Mary Sherwood Owens. She was a long time Etna resident and the widow of Charles F. Dart, who died May 1, 1983. Years ago she was employed a the EconoLodge Motel in Ithaca.
Survivors include her children, Charles (Carmen Roupp) Dart of Dryden, William (Robin Hodge) Dart of Etna, Robert Dart of Interlaken and Mary (Basil Kazameas) Blinn of Freeville; sisters, Lena Oltz of Ithaca, Jeanne Ross of Ithaca and Lula Owens of Groton; in-laws, Gladys Owens, Judith Owens and William (Renie) Dart; grandchildren, Cindy, Heidi and Christopher Dart, Spenser Blinn and Andreas Kazameas; nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Vern Trask, Jackie Warner, Leslie Benjamin; and many other friends including her devoted cat, "Snowy". She was predeceased by her siblings, Teresa Oltz, Chester, Delbert, Catherine, J.R., Frederick and Clarence Owens.
Funeral services will be at 1 PM Wednesday, May 13 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. David C. Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends may call from 12 Noon to 1 PM Wednesday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden.
