MALCOLM L. "MAL" STAMP, age 79, of 2103 Arcadia Drive, Cortland, NY and formerly of Rochester and Penfield, NY died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006 at the Syracuse VA Hospital after a short illness. Mr. Stamp was born April 9, 1927 at Cortland, a son of the late Lawrence and Helen (nee Andrews) Stamp. He was graduated from Homer High School and from Rochester Institute of Technology with BS in Engineering. He served in the US Army in Italy and Germany with the 10th Mountain Division being honorably discharged in 1948. On August 22, 1953 he was married to the former Margaret "Peg" DePauw in Rochester. Mal was employed for 43 years at Gleason Works in Rochester. After retiring, he worked at the Oakwood Cemetery in Penfield and later, after relocating to Virgil, he became employed at the Virgil Rural Cemetery. He was a member and Past President of the Rochester Ski Club having been a charter member. Mal was a director of the Eastern Amateur Ski Association and a member of the National Ski Patrol. He worked at the 1980 Olympics in Lake Placid and was an avid Olympic pin collector.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Peg Stamp of Cortland, his sons, Kirk L. (Amy) Stamp of Rochester and Eric M. (Amy Chessia) Stamp of Scituate, MA; a grandson, Rory Stamp.

Memorial services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, October 19, 2006 at the Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY Rev. Janet D. Lee of the Virgil UMC will officiate. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Oakwood Cemetery,

Penfield. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, are directed to the Green Mountain Valley School, 271 Moulton Rd., Waitsfield, VT 05673.
