Margaret Rose Carney

MARGARET ROSE CARNEY, age 92, of Florida passed away, Sept. 6th, 2007 in Florida. Mrs. Carney was born on the Hill Farm near Peruville, NY a daughter of the late John H. and Burdeene Wentz Hill. She was graduated from Groton High School and from Rochester Institute of Technology earning a degree in Business and Accounting. IN 1951 "Rosie" while working in Niagara Falls, married Robert H. Carney, an efficiency engineer who mended "sick factories" throughout the eastern US. When Rosie retired in 1977 from Chase Manhattan, she and Bob were summering in Pocono Pines, PA and began to spend winters in central Florida. In 1992 they moved entirely to their home in Lady Lake where Bob died in 1996.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Peg Hill (Mrs. Ed S. Hill) of Dryden, a cousin, Eleanor Hill Marugo and family of Long Island; two nieces; two nephews and two step-daughters. Her sister, Francina Hill Jacoby died in Carmel, CA in 1988 and her brother, Ed S. Hill (of Dryden) died in Ithaca in 2005.

Burial will be in the Hill family plot in McLean Rural Cemetery, McLean, NY on Friday, October 12, 2007 at 10:30 AM. Rev. Alan Kinney will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to the Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main St., Dryden. www.perkinsfuneralhome.com
