MARGARET M. DeLONG,
age 90, of 16 DeLong Ave., Ithaca, NY passed away on Friday, May 11, 2007 at her residence. Margaret was born March 3rd, 1917 at Lisbon, WI, a daughter of the late Olaf and Olga Rod Magnus. She was a long time resident and the widow of Freeman J. "Pete" DeLong who died July 25, 1969. She was employed for 23 years at Cornell University, Residence Life.
Survivors include her children, Nancy (Bennett) Harmon of Virgil, Robert (Virginia) DeLong of Slaterville Springs, NY and Kathy (John) Turcsik of Groton, NY; her sister, Solveig "Sally" Gusler of Zephryhills, FL; a sister-in-law, Mary Magnus of Ithaca; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; twelve great great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Jenny Abruzzi and her brother, Sverra "Si" Magnus.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Monday, May 14, 2007 at the Perkins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call from 12 to 1 PM, Monday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden. Memorials, in lieu flowers, may be made to Hospicare, 172 East King Road, Ithaca, NY 14850.
