Margaret E. (Gromes) Dimmett

Margaret E. Dimmett 84, formerly of McLean NY, died Sun Jan 26, 2020, at home in Cedar Run, Cortland Regional Nursing & Rehab Center (Guthrie) after a long battle with diabetes.

She was born Dec 17, 1935, at home in Straits Corners.  She was told she was so tiny she was put in the warming oven.  She was the daughter of the late Fred M. Gromes and Gertrude J. Van Luven Gromes and the wife of the late Douglas Dimmett who died in 1995.

She was a graduate of Wyalusing High School and was very kind, never had a bad thing to say about anyone and was much loved by all who met her.  When she retired from Buckbee Mears she was surprised with a limo ride with several of her friends.

Surviving are two daughters:  Sandra (Stuart) and Teresa (Garry); two sons Michael (Brenda) and Thomas (Debbie).  She is also survived by her beloved sister, Ellie White of Elmira NY.  Margaret had 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
