Marie H. Berkefeld

Marie Berkefeld, 49, of Dryden, NY passed away unexpectedly on September 10, 2023.  Marie was born on October 5, 1973 in Red Bank, New Jersey.  She grew up in Keansburg, New Jersey and graduated from Keansburg High School in 1992.  She worked for ShopRite for over 16 years.  Marie was a hard worker and a loving friend. She moved to Dryden in 2017 to live with her aunt Jean Dennis.  She worked at Pizza and Bones in Dryden for the past 7 years and was like family with her co workers. She would give you the shirt off her back or whatever you needed.  Those who knew Marie knew how much she loved her aunt's dog Cassie, horror films, Halloween, cows, Slipknot, and the Chicago Bears.  She liked to spend time with her cousin and best friend Amy Slack, and her aunt Kathy Stillwagon. They enjoyed going to concerts, shopping, goofing around, and traveling.

Marie is survived by her partner Christopher Hines of Marathon, NY; mother Helen Berkefeld; sons Thomas and William Berkefeld; and half brother Spencer Berkefeld, all from New Jersey; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.  She is predeceased in death by her father William Berkefeld Jr.; her paternal grandparents, William Sr. & Elizabeth Berkefeld; and maternal grandmother, Catherine Olski.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main Street, Dryden, NY.  A celebration of life will be held from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at Pizza and Bones, 22 W. Main Street, Dryden, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking to make a donation to your local animal shelter in Marie's name.
