Marie L. Nicely,
age 78, of 68 Ed Hill Road, Freeville, NY passed away Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Cortland
Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Mrs. Nicely was born Feb. 19, 1932 in Washington, DC , a daughter of the late Stanley and Elizabeth Delaney Quigg. Marie met Philip Nicely of Freeville who was serving with the US Marines and shortly thereafter they were married on April 15, 1949 in Washington. Mr. Nicely passed away June 23, 2005. She was a former member of the Freeville Firemen’s Auxiliary and loved reading and doing craft work. Marie was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her friends and familySurvivors include her children, Anthony Nicely of Cortland, Connie (Howie) Odell of Groton, Philip H. Nicely of Freeville, James E. (Paula) Nicely of Freeville, NY and Corinne (Bob) Albro of Cortland; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews including Donald and Mike Poch and her Lhasa Apso dog, Lucky.
Funeral services will be held at 10 Am, Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at the Perkins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home, 55 West Main Street, Dryden.
