MARIE R. PARK
, age 86, of Dryden, NY passed away Friday, Dec. 31, 2010 at the Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca, NY after a brief illness. Marie was born April 26, 1924 in West Dryden, a daughter of the late Verl and Alice Rankin. Marie was graduated from Groton High School and Syracuse Business School. She was married to Harold Park who passed away on April 28, 1969. Marie was employed at the Dryden School Cafeteria and later in the High School Guidance office retiring in 1988. She had been a member of the United Methodist Church of Dryden.
Survivors include her daughter, Laura J. (Gary Nash) Park of Dryden; grandchildren, Gregory J. Stelick of Phoenix, AZ and Andrea M. Stelick of Tempe, AZ; a brother, Verl Rankin, Jr. of Groton; a sister, Bernice Watrous of Brooksville, FL; a sister-in-law, Geraldine Rankin of Groton; several nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Jai. Marie was predeceased by her husband and siblings, Eileen and Joseph Rankin.
Memorial Services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011 at the Perkins Funeral Home. Burial will be private in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call Saturday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden from 12 PM to 1 PM. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, are directed to Hospicare, 172 E. King Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850.
