MARIE C. SLOAN,
age 83, of 13 Leon Ave., Cortland, NY passed away Sunday, July 2, 2006 at the Cortland Care Center. Mrs. Sloan was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on June 12, 1923 a daughter of the late Charles and Agnes Brenner Lauria. She was the widow of James Boyle Sloan who died July 9, 1982.
Survivors include her sons, Richard (Janice) Sloan of McGraw, James S. Sloan of Cortland and Glenn S. Sloan of Cortland; a daughter, Jean S. (Bill Augst) Love of Dryden; sisters, Mildred Fells of Staten Island, Kathryn (Pete) Cimorilli of Poughkeepsie, Patricia Halpin of Wappjngers Falls; brother, Earl (Lorraine) Lauria of Poughkeepsie; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at the Perkins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Groton Rural Cemetery. Friends are invited to call from 12 to 2 PM Wednesday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden. Memorials are directed to the Groton Ambulance Fund, Groton, NY 13073.
