MARION W. JOLLY
, age 77, formerly of Salmon Creek Road, Lansing, NY passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 14th, 2007 at the Groton Nursing Facility. Mrs. Jolly was born October 28th, 1930 in the town of Dryden, a daughter of the late John and Julia Buchanan Wiiki. She was graduated from Dryden High School in 1948 and on Aug. 7th of that year was married to Clayton Jolly in St. Paul’s UM Church, Ithaca, NY. Mr. Jolly passed away, July 30, 2003. Marion was employed as a secretary at the Tompkins County Trust Company, GLF/Agway, Ithaco, and retired from the Lansing Middle School office. Marion enjoyed dancing, music and making her own tapes, but most of all she enjoyed her family and loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Joanne Jolly of Lansing, Rev. David (Donna) Jolly of Kingston, NY, Stephen (Peggy) Jolly of Lansing and Diane (Robert) Parker of Lansing; her siblings, Ray (Margaret) Wiiki of Lancaster, CA and Irene Tweitman of Melbourne, FL; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher, Bryan, Sarah, Mindy, Robin and Jovon Jolly; one great-grandson, Benjamin Jolly; a brother-in-law, Donald (Beulah) Jolly of Holiday, FL; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Franz of Anacortes, WA and Florence Wiiki of Freeville. She was predeceased by her bothers, Roy, John, Jake; a sister, Julia Wiiki and an infant brother.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, Dec. 19th, 2007 at the Perkins Funeral Home, Dryden, NY with Rev. Dale Austin officiating. Burial, delayed until spring, will be in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call from 5 to 7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY. Those wishing to remember Marion are asked to consider a memorial, in her name, to the United Methodist Church of Freeville, P.O. Box 229, Freeville, NY 13068.
