Marjorie Tilton

MARJORIE TILTON, age 95, formerly of Brooktondale, NY died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at the Groton Nursing Facility. Marjorie was born Nov. 2, 1917 in Ludloville, NY a daughter of the late William and Jennie Bennett Hollenbeck. She was the widow of Rolfe Tilton who died Jan. 29, 1990. Marj had been employed for many years at Cornell Dining Services and was a member of the Caroline Valley Federated Church, the Slaterville Dept. Auxiliary and the Caroline Seniors

Survivors include her children, Roland Hollenbeck in Massachusetts, Eloise (Howard Walrad) Currie and James (Cynthia) Tilton of Lansing and Carleton (Lynne) Tilton of Brooktondale; sixteen grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; a granddaughter, Donna (Mason) Gilbert and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Edward Wise.

Our family wishes to thank Hospicare and their nurse, Debbie, as well as the 2nd floor staff at the Groton Nursing Facility.Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012 at the Caroline Valley Federated Church. Burial will be in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. There are no calling hours. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, are directed to the Hospicare, 172 East King Rd, Ithaca, 14850 or the Caroline Valley Federated Church or the Slaterville Fire Co., P.O. Box, Slaterville Springs, NY 14881 or to the charity of one’s choice. Perkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
