DRYDEN, NY - Marvin Henry Jennings
, age 74, of Lee Road, Dryden, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 25, 2009.
Marvin was born in Harford, NY on December 6, 1934. He was the son of Henry and Ruby Jennings. Marvin graduated from Cortland High School in 1952 and attended Morrisville College for a short period prior to joining the US Navy in 1953. In the Navy, Marvin was an Air Controlman and served onboard the USS Shangri-La during several Far East deployments. After being honorably discharged from the Navy in 1963, Marvin moved back to Dryden, NY where he was the owner of M & M Refrigeration until retirement in 2008. Marvin was an avid sports car lover.
He was an active member of the Central NY Region of the Porsche Club of America from 1963 through 2009, where he routinely competed in driving and concours events.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mabel E. Jennings; his mother, Ruby Ferris of Lansing, NY; his son, Mark M. (Susan) Jennings of Kennewick, WA; and his daughter, Monica C. Jennings of Dryden, NY. Marvin has six grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Marvin is also survived by four half siblings; Faye Grandall of Burleson, TX, Dalyce Nishibayashi of HI, Floyd Ferris of Lansing, NY and Candice Ferris of Austin, TX.
