MARY SALAYDA ANGELOVER,
age 94, of Mill Street, Dryden, NY and formerly of Vandling, PA, passed away Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, at the Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, NY, after a brief illness. Mrs. Angelover was born Sept. 16, 1916 in Forest City, PA, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Mihalik Salayda. Her husband of 57 years, Joseph Angelover died in 2004. Mary was a founding member of Holy Cross Church and had been a resident of Dryden since 1955. She was retired from Cornell University.
Survivors include her son, Gerald M. Angelover of Dryden and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by an infant son, Joseph; sisters, Anna Piatak of Simpson, PA, Johanna Markanich-Koss of Jessup, PA and Alice Royko of Forest City, PA; brothers, Michael Salayda of Auburn, NY, John Salayda of Williamsport and William Salayda of Forest City.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Forest City, PA. Friends are asked to consider a memorial gift to Holy Cross Church, 475 George Road, Freeville, NY 13068.
