MARY L. CARBERRY, age 100, of Ithaca, NY (formerly of Etna, NY) passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at Cayuga Ridge after a brief illness. Mary was born Dec. 19, 1912 in Negaunee, Michigan as Lemki Mary Pirneskoski. She was a daughter of the late Heiki and Ida Erlala Pirneskoski.

age 100, of Ithaca, NY (formerly of Etna, NY) passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at Cayuga Ridge after a brief illness. Mary was born Dec. 19, 1912 in Negaunee, Michigan as Lemki Mary Pirneskoski. She was a daughter of the late Heiki and Ida Erlala Pirneskoski.
Mary was a graduate of Spencer High School and had worked at Ithaca Textiles years ago and later was employed at Cornell as a sorority housekeeper. She was a member of the Etna Community Associations. She enjoyed writing in her journal, working with her flower gardens and attending meetings of the Etna Community Association. Her husband, George Carberry, Sr. died in 1985.
Survivors include her sons, George (Mary) Carberry, Jr. of Elmira, Harry Carberry of Ithaca and Michael (Diane) Carberry of Ithaca; grandchildren, Danny (Kate) Carberry, Joel (Susan) Carberry, Mary Frances (David) Minotti, Lisa Carberry and Timothy Carberry; great-grandchildren, Harleigh Vestal, McKenna Carberry Jack Carberry, Kristen Minotti and Isabella Carberry; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, five siblings and a great-grandson, Mark Minotti.
