Mary Kathryn (Jividen) Kane

Mary Kathryn White Kane, age 94, of Ithaca, NY passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 at the Hospicare Residence.

Born March 6, 1926 in Glasgow, WV she was the daughter of the late Jonah and Louise Snead Jividen and wife of the late Donald “Red” Kane who died in 2002. Mrs. Kane had been employed with Tompkins County Hospital as a Nurse’s Aide prior to retirement.

She is survived by her daughter, Joan M. Guest of Freeville, NY; sons, John Thomas White, David Lee White and Joseph Daniel White all of Elmira, NY; step daughters, Nancy Nielsen and Carole Morehouse; seven grandchildren; many great grandchildren and step grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In addition, she was predeceased by siblings, Charles Jividen, DeeDee Wheeler, John Jividen, James Jividen and Evelyn White.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, there is no visitation planned.  A Memorial will be scheduled at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ithaca First Assembly of God, 197 Bostwick Rd., Ithaca, NY  14850.
