MERLINDA PATRICIA THOMAS, age 46, of Marathon, NY passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, March 12, 2015. Merlinda was born November 20, 1968 in Cortland and was employed as a phlebotomist for Quest Diagnostics. She had previously been employed at Cayuga Medical Center, Cortland Memorial Hospital and Family Medicine.
At one time she had been an Emergency Medical Technician with the Marathon Emergency Squad. Merlinda was a loving person with many friends, and an awesome mother to her daughter who will miss her greatly.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Foley of Marathon; her brother, Merle A. (Pam) Thomas of McLean, NY, Gail (Ed) O’Neil, Jerri (Don Beebe)Bernard, Deborah (David) Cross; a sister-in-law, Jennifer Thomas; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, James L. Thomas.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM, Wednesday, March 18th at the Perkins funeral Home with Pastor David Carter officiating. Friends are invited to call from 2 to 3 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home, 55 West Main Street, Dryden.
