Monica P. (Prince) Whyte

Monica Prince Whyte, age 93 of Willowbrook Manor, Dryden, NY passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Cortland Regional Nursing Home.

Born August 21, 1927 in Cortland, NY she was the daughter of the late Llewellyn and Laura Elsbree Prince. On April 10, 1946 she married the love of her life, Robert J. Whyte who died in 2003. For many years she was the bookkeeper at Whytes Auto Service. She was also active in the Freeville Fire Dept. Womens Auxiliary, a cub scout leader, coached Kiwanis baseball and was a support to the Freeville School and the community.

Monica is survived by her three children, James (Sherry) Whyte of Freeville;  Jill (Dennis) of Dryden and  Jack of McLean; grandchildren, Rebecca (Troy) of Jacksonville, FL, Bruce Whyte (Cherry) of Lansing, Robin Whyte of Armonk, NY, Jason (Emily) Monnat of Dryden, Jessica (Michael) Kirk of North Carolina, Emily (Scott) Sickmond of Locke,  Olivia Whyte of McLean, Jack Whyte Jr. and several great grandchildren.  In addition, she was predeceased by her son, Timothy Whyte and sister, Barbara and brother, Llewellen.

Private graveside services and interment in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden, NY will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
