Patricia Mae (French) Edmonds

Patricia Mae French Edmonds, 87 of Dryden, NY passed away peacefully on Monday, April 11, 2022 in her home.  She was born July 11, 1934 in Binghamton, NY.  Her parents were Kermit (Ruth Mulks) French, and her birth mother Mae Rogers Brown. She graduated Boone High School, FL in 1953. She married Carl Edgar Edmonds in 1956 and lived in Harford, NY and upon his death in 1965 moved her family to Dryden, NY.

She is survived by her son, Charles K. “Eddie” (Julie) Edmonds of Campbellsport, WI; her daughters, Bambi L. (Al) Avery of Dryden, NY, Carleen P. (Allen) Smoak of Blythewood, SC, and Eileen R. (Hardison) King of Irmo, SC; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters Beverly Bray and Eileen Poole; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Her beloved brother and life-time friend, Richard K. (Ellen) French predeceased her by only several days.

She loved most of all spending time with her family and having folks stop by to visit.  She enjoyed fishing, cooking, singing, dancing, and writing poetry.  She loved fresh flowers, God, coffee, sweet treats, and the smell of the early morning fresh air. She was funny, loved to tell a joke or sing a ditty.  She was a listening ear, a warm hug, a loud laugh, a loving presence to so many people through her lifetime.  She was a wonderful Mom, an awesome Grandma, and a great Friend. Her heart was big.  Her laugh was infectious.  Her love contagious!

Pat always liked to have the last word. Here is a poem she wrote for this day:

My Last Good Bye!

To each and every one that’s here

I bid my last adieu

It sure was nice knowing all of you

My life was good, my needs were met

There’s very little I regret

I’ve been loved and given love

And showered with blessings from above

Four great kids of my own

Grandchildren galore

All of which I adore!

So smile and laugh when you think of me

…….No Tears…….

Just thanks for the years.

Memorial service will be on May 13, 2022, 1:00 pm at Perkins Funeral Home followed by the burial at Willow Glen Cemetery.  To honor Pat’s wish, “So smile and laugh when you think of me”, the family will host a Celebration of Life at the Dryden VFW, 2272 Dryden Rd at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Dryden Ambulance or Dryden Fire Dept-Neptune Hose, 26 North St, Dryden, NY 13053.
