Pat Rueb, age 75, of Cortland, NY, passed away unexpectedly on November 14th, 2024. Born on October 19th, 1949, Pat was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
Pat was married to Konrad Rueb on September 17th, 1984, sharing 40 years of love and partnership. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Noreen Totman-Nebbia (wife Shawn), and a proud grandmother to three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pat’s family also includes her siblings, Robert Totman (wife Jean) and Joanne Avery (husband Rob), who gave her three nieces and three nephews—Bobby, Kris, Lori, Lisa, Mark, and Tracey. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Virginia Lion (husband Michael), who gave her five grandchildren, and Konrad Rueb (late spouse Lori Rueb), who had five grandchildren as well, along with seven great-grandchildren.
Pat grew up in Cortland, NY, where she attended Cortland High School and was a proud member of the school band, often seen playing her cherished clarinet. After graduating, she dedicated her career to serving others, retiring from Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3) after many years of hard work and compassion.
Pat was a true fighter, surviving cancer not once, but four times. Each battle was met with incredible strength and resilience, and she became a symbol of perseverance to all who knew her. Her courage and determination through each challenge were awe-inspiring, and she faced life’s obstacles with grace, always refusing to give up.
Her death, though unexpected, has left a profound emptiness in the hearts of all who loved her. Pat’s absence is deeply felt by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched with her warmth, generosity, and unwavering kindness.
Pat was preceded in death by her mother, Irene Range, her stepfather, Lester Range, and her father, Henry C. Totman.
Known for her kindness, selflessness, and her ever-present willingness to help others, Pat made an impact wherever she went. She was also a lifelong fan of Mickey Mouse, and anyone who knew her will always think of her whenever they see that iconic figure. Pat also cherished her Friday night cards night’s and paint-and-sip adventures with her friends, creating many joyful memories that those close to her will forever hold dear.
Pat is now at rest, reunited with loved ones in heaven. Her legacy of love, strength, and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A small celebration of Pat’s life will be held with Pat’s immediate family as this was her final wishes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity of your choice in Pat's memory. Thank you for the love and support during this difficult time.
