Pauline Lorraine Trask, 94, of Freeville passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at the Groton Community Health Care Center. She was born July 18, 1929, in Richford. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Cleo Palmer Abbott. As a long-term resident of Freeville, she worked for the US Postal Service in Freeville, Ithaca, and Lansing for many years. Pauline loved her family and grandchildren and enjoyed visiting the family camp in Canada. She loved to sew and quilt and helped make many quilts for family weddings, graduations and births.
Pauline is survived by seven children: Carolyn (John) VanWie of Baldwinsville, Diane (Jim) Eaton of Freeville, Lee R. Trask of Dryden, William (Janice Ewanicki) of Groton, Mary (Ray) Converse of McLean, Susan (Peter Jarvis) Trask of Freeville, and Dale Ann Trask of Nashville, TN; Grandchildren; Matthew, Brian, and Jodie VanWie; James, Richard, and Melissa Eaton; Jessica, Brandon, Julia; Alex and Marcus Converse and 8 great grandchildren; and her brother, Eldon (Vera) Abbott. In addition to her parents, Pauline is predeceased by 4 siblings.
A visitation will be held on July 2, 2024, from 12:00pm – 1:00pm followed by a funeral service at 1:00pm at Perkins Funeral Home located at 55 W. Main Street, Dryden, NY. Burial will follow in Center Lisle Cemetery on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
