Pauline B.N. Wurzel

Burgess Nase Wurzel of Dryden, NY went to be with the Lord on January 27, 2012 at the age of 88. Pauline was born Jan. 13, 1924 in Ithaca, NY to the late Alvin and Anna Bush Burgess. She was graduated from Ithaca High School and the former Tompkins County Memorial Hospital of Nursing and worked at Lakeside Nursing Home and Ithaca Hospital for many years as a nurse. She loved to bake cakes and was a superior seamstress and a member of the United Methodist Church of Dryden and the Ladies Auxiliary of Dryden Township Post # 8158, Veterans of Foreign Wars. She She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and will be missed by her family and friends. Pauline is survived by her son, Robert (Carol) Nase and her daughter, Janice (Glenn) Downey both of Dryden; a brother, Robert Burgess of Baldwinsville, NY; a sister, Eleanor Mastronardi of Takoma Park, MD; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Pauline was preceded in death by husbands Ralph Nase who died in 1962, and Richard Wurzel who died in 1995; her siblings, Archie (Beverly) Burgess, Donald (Evelyn) Burgess, Dorothy (Laurence) Myer and Florence (Lorenzo) Martin. Memorial services will be held at 12 Noon, Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 at the Dryden United Methodist Church of Dryden with Rev. Richard H. Sivers officiating. Burial, delayed, will be in Willow Glen Cemetery. Friends are invited to call Thursday from 10 AM to Noon at the church, 2 North Street, Dryden.
