Peggy Ann Merrill

PEGGY ANN MERRILL, age 65, of West South Street, Groton, NY passed away Friday, Nov. 24, 2017 at home. Peggy was born Oct. 18, 1952 in Ithaca, a daughter of Irene Russell Merrill and the late Thomas Merrill. Peggy was graduated from Dryden High School in 1970 and from SUNY Morrisville in 1972. She also studied at Syracuse where she earned her Registered Nurse license. She was employed at Cortland Memorial Hospital and at Schuyler Hospital and also had been a traveling nurse. Peggy was an Emergency Medical Technician and Instructor. She served for many years with Groton Fire Department Ambulance. She was an election worker and a friend to a great many folks.
Survivors include her mother, Irene Merrill of Groton, her sister, Mary (Jerry) Kinney of Locke and her brother, Charles (Janice) Merrill of Richford, NY; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Thomas Merrill.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Neno officiating. Burial will follow in West Groton Cemetery, Groton, NY. Friends are invited to call from 4 to 6 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY. Memorials are directed the Groton Ambulance Fund, Groton, NY 13073
