Philip C. Moon

PHILIP C. MOON, age 74, of 671 Goodrich Hill Rd., Locke, NY went to be with his Lord and Savior on Nov. 15, 2005 at Cayuga Medical Center, Ithaca, NY. Philip was born Oct. 6th, 1931 in the Town of Harford, NY a son of the late Harry and Emily Bennett Moon. In Philip’s early years he worked at various jobs including Smith Corona. In 1965 he went into partnership with his brother, Ted, as Moon Brothers Bulk Milk Trucking. The last years of is employment he worked for Dean Potter Trucking. Philip attended Homer Baptist Church for many years and was very proud of the new Grace Christian Fellowship.

Survivors include his sons, Gene (Jan) Moon of Lansing, NY and Steven Pinto of Liverpool, NY; a step-daughter, Tammy (Stephen) Schlenker of Cortland, NY; his sister, Hazel Moon Carpenter of Denver, PA; his brother, Theodore (Judy) Moon of Plattsburg, NY; grandchildren, Heather Street, Charlie and Amanda Moon, Ed Weisberg and Philip Pinto; his close friend and care giver, C. Murlene Babel and her grandson, Luke Babel; a sister-in-law, Bessie Moon French; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia Ryerson Moon; a brother, Gerald Moon; a sister, Janet Reed.

Funeral services will be at 1 PM Friday, November 18, 2005 in Grace Christian Fellowship, Fisher Ave., Cortland, NY with Rev. Robert Klecan officiating. Burial will follow in Virgil Rural Cemetery. Friends are invited to call prior to the funeral from 12 to 1 PM Friday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Perkins Funeral Home, Dryden, NY. Those wishing to remember Philip are asked to consider a memorial in Philip’s name to the Grace Christian Fellowship, 1250 Fisher Ave., Cortland, NY 13045.
