Pastor R. John Snow, a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, left his earthly home as a result of a skiing accident and entered his heavenly home on March 1, 2012, at the age of 70. He and his wife, Lucy, made their home near West Burke, VT.

He was born August 24, 1941 in Ithaca, New York, the son of Richard and Winnifred Palmer Snow, both deceased.

After college preparation, he taught mathematics in his home town junior and senior high schools for 7 years before he felt the Lord’s call to pastoral ministry. He served Grace Brethren Churches for 34 years in various capacities including youth, music, senior pastor and executive pastor in churches in Pennsylvania, Vermont, Kansas and Ohio. For ten years he was involved in a church planting ministry in Irasburg, VT where a church and Christian school were established.

After officially retiring in 2007 in Pennsylvania, he and Lucy moved once again back to Vermont. He served as interim pastor for two years at the Lyndon Center Baptist Church, did pulpit supply as needed and until the present was part-time interim associate pastor at the Union Baptist Church in St. Johnsbury, VT.

John had many hobbies and interests in life, especially interacting with people in his pastoral ministries. He enjoyed making items in his woodworking shop, loved the outdoors doing gardening and caring for the property where he resided, and fishing, skiing, and snowmobiling were always a delight to him.
