Raina Victoria Hansen

Raina Victoria Hansen, 18, passed away unexpectedly on August 7, 2024. Raina was born in Syracuse and resided in Dryden, NY. Raina was a 2024 graduate of Dryden High School where she enjoyed her participation in the BOCES Construction Program. She was planning on pursuing a career as an electrician, starting this fall. During her high school years, she played varsity soccer and was a member of the varsity cheerleading squad. In between all of these activities, Raina also worked as a hostess at The Village Taqueria in Dryden. Raina loved her family and friends very much and had a huge love for the outdoors. Her favorite place to be was her family’s cottage on Seneca Lake where she enjoyed fishing, swimming, and tubing on the water. She always looked forward to weekend camping trips with her family. Raina was an amazingly caring young lady who would always go out of her way to help those in need. At the young age of 17, she registered herself as an organ donor. In her final days, Raina was able to give the ultimate gift to those in need by donating her organs. She left our world as a true hero.

Raina was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Samuel and Ruth Ponto; Aunt Lisa Ponto; Uncle Paul Ponto; Cousin Anna Ponto. Raina is survived by her loving parents Brandon and Tammy Hansen; brother Raddlee Hansen; paternal grandparents Brian and Patricia Hansen; Uncle Samuel (Cathy) Ponto; Uncle Chad (Courtney) Hansen; cousins Rachel (Jack Glover), Jennifer (Neal Myers) and Joseph Ponto, Alexis Wojtalewski, Max, Carly, Maeve, and Theo Hansen; as well as several other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday August 14 at Grace Christian Fellowship Church, 1250 Fisher Ave, Cortland, NY 13045 from 11am- 2pm. Funeral service immediately to follow. A celebration of life will be held from 4pm-8pm at The LakeWatch Inn, 1636 E. Shore Dr., Ithaca, NY 14850. A private burial will be held on Thursday.
