RAYMOND C. LIDDINGTON, age 86, of Harford, NY passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015 at home. “Ray” was born December 28, 1928 in Harford, a son of the late John and Helen Swank Liddington. A 1947 graduate of Marathon High School, Ray served honorably in the US Marine Corps and was discharged in 1952 as a Staff Sergeant. On May 29, 1954 he was married to Sandra Stone of Homer. Sandra passed away November 9, 1982. Ray was a Union Carpenter associated with the Ithaca Local. He was a member of the Leonard T. Spaulding Post 1134, American Legion and the Dryden Township Post 8158, Veterans of Foreign Wars and served for many years on the Ritual Team. He enjoyed reading, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He attended many Marine Corps reunions.
Survivors include his sons, Gary P. (Donna Wood) of Freeville, Kelly (Lynn) Liddington of Warsaw, VA; his daughters, Kaye (Darryl) Hall of Cortland and Melissa “Missy” (David) Wilk of Cortland; grandsons, Curtis and Cody Wilk; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Sandy; his twin sister, Joyce Michaud; sister, Trudy Carter and his brother, Harry Liddington.
Funeral services will be celebrated at 11 AM, Wednesday, June 24th at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Archie Smith officiating. Burial with military honors provided by members of the Dryden Veterans Memorial Home Ritual Team will follow at Willow Glen Cemetery. Friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 AM, Wednesday at the funeral home 55 West Main Street, Dryden.
