REGINALD A. HATHAWAY,
age 74, of Dryden, NY passed away Sunday, May 27th, 2012 at the Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich, NY and had previously been a resident of the NYS Veteran’s Home in Oxford for the last 18 months.
Mr. Hathaway was born March 8, 1938 in Cortland, NY a son of the late Herbert and Mabel Allen Hathaway. “Reg” attended Cincinnatus Schools and enlisted in the US Navy serving from 1955 to 1975. Later he was employed at Monarch Machine Tool and Lime Hollow Nature Center. On January 5, 1957 he was married to the former Permelia Hilsinger who survives. He enjoyed watching the NY Yankees and reading. He had a good sense of humor and was loved by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Permelia at home, three sons, Reginald A. (April) Hathaway, Jr. of Groton, Larry (Laura)Hathaway of Freeville and Brian (Jacquelyn) Hathaway of Homer; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Raymond (Shirley) Hathaway of Norwich; a sister, Patricia (Ed) Deleski of South New Berlin; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will begin at 1 PM, Friday, June 1, 2012 at the Perkins Funeral Home. Burial with military honors provided by members of the Dryden Veterans Memorial Home Ritual Team will follow in McLean Rural Cemetery. Memorials are directed to the Dryden Ambulance Fund, P.O.
