Reta Bertha Doran Oaks,
81, a resident of Pelzer, SC and the widow of Carl Lynn Oaks died Sunday, March 11, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital Pelzer, SC. Reta was born in East Freetown, NY on April 5, 1925, a daughter of the late Paul and Cecil Blowers Doran. She was a homemaker and a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara J. and Guy Hastings of Jacksonville, FL, Reta K. "Kathy" and John Blasdale of Piedmont, Paulette L. and Daniel Horne of Pelzer, Patricia L. and Stacy Dexter of Guangzhou, China; son and daughter-in-law, Carl L., Jr. and Vonnie Oaks of Knoxville, TN; sisters, JoAnn Doran, Sandra (David) Emerson, all of Georgia, Susie Inman of Cortland, NY; sister-in-law, LaDonna Doran of Kirksville, MO; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Friday at the Perkins Funeral Home with Pastor Harold Cummings officiating. Burial, delayed until spring, will be in Virgil, NY. The family will receive friends 1-2 PM Friday prior to the service at funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden, NY.
